Dr. David Hogan spoke to 120+ middle and high school teacher through Cu at the Mine Teacher Academy

Dr. David Hogan spoke to mor than 120 middle and high school teachers through the Cu at the Mine Teacher Academy over the past year on two topics, titled “Environmental impacts of the Hermosa Mine project: an interactive debate” and “Sustainable mining: an introduction”.

Hogan said of the experience:

The teachers were truly engaged, especially working through the concept of sustainability and debating how sustainability is defined […] I think it is really important to discuss how sustainability applies to all industries and to work through the myriad of ways that sustainability efforts can be applied. This is especially true of the mining industry in particular. It is really great to hear from the teachers on how they are going to take what they have learned back to their students across the state, and how what they learned is relevant to the communities in which they live.
