Dr. Jon Chorover Appointed Associate Dean for Research in Colleges of Agriculture, Life & Environmental Sciences
DUST Center Project 3 Lead Investigator Dr. Jon Chorover was named Associate Dean for Research in Colleges of Agriculture, Life & Environmental Sciences (CALES) this month.
Interim CALES Dean Michael Staten said in his announcement that “Jon’s appointment reflects his extensive experience advancing research programs in complex academic environments and his longstanding engagement with the college’s research enterprise…
Since 2023, Jon has served as interim associate dean for research. During a period of significant fiscal uncertainty, he worked closely with faculty, staff, and campus partners to stabilize research support mechanisms, improve the strategic use of federal capacity and IDC funds, and position CALES to re-invest in seed funding, mentoring, and interdisciplinary initiatives as conditions improve”.
As Associate Dean, Dr. Chorover will prioritize “advancing a college research strategy that emphasizes collaboration across units, strengthening support for early-career faculty, and broadening [the CALES] portfolio of funding sources in a changing federal landscape”.
Congratulations Dr. Chorover!
