2011-2012 EPA-SRP Seminar Series Wraps Up!
On November 2, 2012, University of Arizona Superfund Research Program (UA SRP) Community Engagement Core Coordinator Denise Moreno Ramírez delivered the final seminar in the 2011-2012 EPA-SRP Seminar Series via the US EPA CLU-IN website.
This internet seminar was a reprisal of the presentation she gave at EPA Region 9 headquarters in July, 2012. Entitled “Pollution Prevention Success Story: Partnering with Promotoras,” the internet seminar was recorded and can be viewed here. Ms. Moreno Ramírez spoke about her work with community health workers (promotoras) from the Sonora Environmental Research Institute Sonoran Environmental Research Institute, Inc. (SERI) to implement a successful pollution prevention program targeting small businesses in Tucson.
The EPA-SRP Seminar Series is designed to bring together SRP researchers with US EPA Remedial Project Mangers in the Pacific Southwest (EPA Region 9). Each topic is presented as a “Live at 9” seminar at Region 9 headquarters in San Francisco, followed by an international web seminar sponsored by NIEHS and broadcast via the EPA CLU-IN website.
