Congratulations to Dr. Aikseng Ooi for Promotion to Associate Professor

Dr. Aikseng Ooi, PI of the University of Arizona Superfund Research Center (UA SRC) Data Management and Analysis Core (DMAC), has been promoted to Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, College of Pharmacy.
Dr. Ooi has a BS and PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). He worked at the National Cancer Center in Singapore from 2007 to 2008 and then worked for the Van Andel Research Institute in Grand Rapids, Michigan, from 2008 to 2013. He has been at the University of Arizona since 2014.
Dr. Aiksen Ooi is a biochemist working on solving problems in cancer biology. He has extensive experience in developing and applying computational algorithms on large genomic datasets to identify biological changes critical to cancer biology. Being a biochemist by training, his current research program has the capacity to go from computational biology to molecular and in vivo validation of the computational findings.
