Dr. Mark Brusseau Active in PFAS Research

July 19, 2019

Dr. Mark Brusseau, University of Arizona Superfund Research Program (UA SRP) investigator, served as a member of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry PFAS Historical Reconstruction Expert Panel. The goal for this panel was to advise on methods to develop the best possible estimate (or estimated range) of historical PFAS concentrations in the public water system of a site affected by PFAS contamination. The panel comprised 10 members drawn from environmental consulting, academia, and AFCEC, and was provided technical assistance by two environmental consulting firms.

Dr. Brusseau was also an invited speaker at the Information-Exchange Workshop on PFAS and Other Emerging Contaminants held in Phoenix (July 11, 2019). The workshop was organized by the American Ground Water Trust, a non-profit education organization, in cooperation with the Arizona Hydrological Society and with support from the Air &Waste Management Association–Grand Canyon Section. The speakers comprised a broad array of expertise, including environmental law, water treatment and supply, environmental consulting, and academia.
