Dr. Sergio Revah is Recipient of Prestigious Award

The Mexican Secretariat of Public Education announced the winners of the 2010 National Awards for the Sciences and Arts.  This year, Dean Carter Binational Center collaborator, Dr. Sergio Revah Moiseev was presented the award in the area of Technology and Design.  This is one of the most important awards the Mexican government gives to individuals that have made a substantial contribution or furthered developed areas within science and the arts.  Since the President of Mexico inaugurated the award in 1945, it has been given to Mexicans excelling in a range of disciplines including linguistics and literature, fine arts, history, social science, and philosophy, physics-mathematics and natural sciences, technology and design, and traditional/popular arts.

Dr. Revah Moiseev is at the Autonomous Metropolitan University in Cuajimalpa, Mexico specializing in environmental biotechnology.  He collaborates with University of Arizona Superfund Research Program (SRP) researchers Dr. Reyes Sierra and Dr. James Field as well as Dr. Rogelio Vazquez Gonzalez from the Center for Scientific Investigation and Higher Education of Ensenada through the Dean Carter Binational Center to develop solutions for treatment of landfill leachate plumes.  Please join the SRP and the Dean Carter Binational Center in congratulating Dr. Revah Moiseev in receiving this distinguished honor.
