Sept. 3, 2013

Dr. Jay Gandolfi and Dr. Wendell Ela, University of Arizona Superfund Research Program (UA SRP) investigators, were invited to present at the Tribal Water and Wastewater Systems Operator Workgroup Meeting for the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona (ITCA). The event was held in Camp Verde, AZ on August 28, 2013. Dr. Gandolfi and Dr. Ela worked with Dr. Marti Lindsey of the UA Southwest Environmental Health Sciences Center to develop a program on arsenic and human health for the tribal workshop. Dr. Ela gave a presentation about water systems, and received numerous questions. Dr. Gandolfi presented about the health effects of arsenic and emphasized to the workers the importance of regulating arsenic exposure.
