On June 28, 2008 UA SBRP PI, Dr. James Field presented a seminar entitled: “Treatment of heavy metals and elimination of sulfur with a novel sulfate reducing permeable reactive barrier containing ZVI”. A total of 8 US EPA Remedial Project Managers participated in the “Live at Region 9” seminar at the US EPA Region 9 headquarters in San Francisco.

On August 27th at 11:00 AM MST, 2:00 PM EST, Dr. Field will conduct the web version of his seminar via the US EPA Technology Innovation Program’s Clu-In website, sponsored by NIEHS. To register for Dr. Field's web seminar, please go to: http://www.clu-in.org/conf/tio/sulfate/.

The EPA-UA SBRP Seminar Series is the result of ongoing collaborative efforts between EPA Region 9 Superfund and Technology Liaison, Mike Gill, and UA SBRP Research Translation Coordinator, Monica Ramirez. After discussing and delineating the scientific needs of the Regional Project Managers and the research strengths of the UA SBRP, Mike Gill and Monica Ramirez designed a first-of-its-kind information transfer series.
