Mark Brusseau Elected American Geophysical Union Fellow

April 29, 2011

University of Arizona Superfund Research Program (UA SRP) investigator  Mark L. Brusseau has been elected as an American Geophysical Union (AGU) 2011 Fellow. Being named an AGU Fellow is a special honor bestowed upon less than 0.1% of all AGU members in a given year. Fellows must demonstrate scientific excellence and must have attained scientific eminence in their field.

Dr. Brusseau is a professor in the Department of Soil, Water, and Environmental Science and a joint faculty member of the Hydrology and Water Resources Department. He has spent the past 25 years studying the transport and fate of contaminants in subsurface environments. As an SRP investigator, he brings together laboratory-based experiments and real-world experience to provide a mechanistic understanding of chlorinated solvent behavior from the pore-scale to the field-scale.

Dr. Brusseau will be formally inducted as a Fellow at the Annual AGU meeting in December. Please join us in congratulating him on this prestigious award!
