New Associate Director, Dr. Clark Lantz

June 10, 2013

The summer marks a change in the administration of the University of Arizona Superfund Research Program (UA SRP). The UA SRP Administrative team welcomes Dr. R. Clark Lantz as Associate Director. Dr. Todd Camenisch is stepping down as Associate Director to take on a new challenge: he has accepted the position of Director of Corporate Affairs for the College of Pharmacy. We wish him well and look forward to his continuing contributions as a UA SRP investigator.

Dr. Lantz has been part of the UA SRP for more than ten years and brings extensive research and administrative experience to the Associate Director position. He is a Professor and Associate Head in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, with appointments in the BIO5 Institute, Southwest Environmental Health Sciences Center, and the Arizona Cancer Center. He is one of the first scientists to extensively study the effects of early life exposure to arsenic on lung growth and development. He is a principal investigator of UA SRP Project 3, Pulmonary response to toxicants in susceptible populations: alterations following in utero and early post-natal exposure. He has long been an active member of the Dean Carter Binational Center for Environmental Health Sciences, participating in a number of international collaborations and activities. In his spare time, Dr. Lantz enjoys golfing.

Welcome to the team, Clark!
