Paloma Beamer, among '40 Under 40' honorees

Paloma Beamer, UA SRP Investigator, has been named to the Arizona Daily Star’s “40 Under 40” Young leaders. The award, Co-hosted by the Arizona Daily Star and the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, recognizes young leaders in the community who are making an impact through their professional and charitable work. Honorees for 2012 included scientist, teachers and engineers.

Dr. Beamer is an environmental engineer and holds an Assistant Professorship of Environmental Health Sciences in the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health and in Chemical and Environmental Engineering. The focus of her research is in the development of tools that can help provide more robust exposure and dose estimates and improve the demonstration of a relationship between measured environmental concentrations and resulting health effects, particularly amongst children and underserved populations.
