Rocío Estrella, new Senior Program Coordinator

Jan. 4, 2011

The University of Arizona Superfund Research Program (UA SRP) is proud to introduce our new Program Coordinator, Rocío Estrella.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Technological Institute of Sonora, Mexico, and received her Master’s degree in Soil and Water Science from the University of Arizona.

Mrs. Estrella has been a part of the UA SRP team for more than five years, working with Denise Moreno Ramirez, MS, to coordinate outreach activities for the Community Engagement core of the UA SRP and the Dean Carter Binational Center for Environmental Health Sciences.  In particular, her bilingual expertise has been invaluable in translating lay public-accessible information sheets, professional research bulletins, promotora materials, and PowerPoint seminars from English to Spanish, thus increasing the audience of the UA SRP and Binational Center. In her new position, Ms. Estrella will build upon her current skills and duties by assisting Program Director Dr. A. Jay Gandolfi and Associate Director Dr. Raina Maier, as well as coordinating intra-SRP activities such as reports and renewals, and the SRP Colloquium.

Please join us in welcoming Rocío to her new position; we look forward to her continued contributions to our program! You can contact her at estrella@pharmacy.arizona.edu or (520) 626-7101.
