Trainees Win Awards at Metals Conference

Oct. 26, 2014

The University of Arizona Superfund Research Program (UA SRP) was well-represented at the 8th Conference on Metal Toxicity and Carcinogenesis, held October 26-29, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM. The conference brought together a community of scientists in the area of metal toxicity and carcinogenicity from around the United States and overseas.

Congratulations to two graduate trainees, Eric Ditzel and Tianfang Huang, both of whom work under the guidance of UA SRP investigator Todd Camenisch, for receiving travel awards to attend the conference. Further kudos to Ditzel, who also received an award for Best Poster.

Former UA SRP Director Jay Gandolfi and current Associate Director Clark Lantz both served on the conference organizing committee and chaired sessions, while UA SRP investigators Walt Klimecki and Bernie Futscher provided updates on their arsenic-related studies.
