UA SRP Grant Renewal

Sept. 30, 2015

The University of Arizona Superfund Research Program (UA SRP) has been continually funded by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) since 1989. In 2015 we were awarded funding to continue support of the program through March 31, 2017.

The overall goals of the UA SRP are 1) to support the development of a risk assessment process for dusts and associated metal(loid) contaminants generated by hardrock mining through toxicologic and biogeochemical studies; and 2) to develop innovative remediation technologies that will mitigate this risk. To learn more about the interdisciplinary projects and cores that support these goals, explore our website: www.superfund.arizona.edu.
