UA SRP Researcher Dr. Clark Lantz Receives Career Achievement Award

University of Arizona Superfund Research Program (UA SRP) investigator Dr. Clark Lantz was recently awarded the Inhalation and Respiratory Specialty Section Career Achievement Award at the 50th Annual meeting of the Society of Toxicology, held in Washington, DC in March, 2011.

The award recognizes a senior investigator whose body of work represents an outstanding achievement in respiratory/inhalation toxicology. The award was based on Dr. Lantz's breadth and depth of scientific contributions, his influence in the education/training/mentorship of young scientists in the field, his leadership and service to the field, and his influence on regulatory/public health decisions.

Over the past 30 years, Dr. Lantz has concentrated his research in the area of pulmonary toxicology. His most recent work, as a UA SRP researcher, has focused on the effects of exposure to arsenic, a global environmental toxicant, on lung growth and development and on identification of arsenic-induced pulmonary biomarkers.
