UA SRP at the Tucson Festival of Books

Feb. 1, 2013

On March 9-10, 2013, the University of Arizona Superfund Research Program (UA SRP) participated in the 5th Annual Tucson Festival of Books. The UA SRP was part of Science City 2013, “Obsessed with Science.” Housed in the Science of Everyday Life tent, we were on hand to provide our informational materials to the estimated 120,000 visitors to this year’s Festival.

Festival-goers both young and old were excited to spin our colorful wheel, answer environmental trivia questions and corny jokes, and receive stickers and pencils. Research Translation Coordinator Sarah Wilkinson was assisted by Community Engagement Coordinator Denise Moreno Ramírez and six of our Training Core students: Eric Ditzel, Chris Olivares, Binod Chaudery, Anna Sugeng, Linnea Herbertson, and Mike Stovern. The Training Core students brought a lot of energy and excitement to the table, and enjoyed interacting with our local community.
