Dr. Ramirez Andretta Presents Keynote Address at University of Iowa’s Engagement Summit
Dr. Monica Ramirez-Andreotta, University of Arizona Superfund Research Center (UA SRC) Research Translation Principal Investigator, presented the keynote address at the University of Iowa’s Engagement Summit on April 9, 2024.
The Engagement Summit is an annual event at the University of Iowa that brings together faculty, staff, students, and community partners to explore and celebrate the year’s impactful community engagement work between the University of Iowa and communities across Iowa and beyond.
The day-long event included sessions and speakers on topics in community engagement, including community-engaged research, the impact of engagement on communities, creative placemaking and improving quality of life in communities, graduate education, and community engagement, and recognizing and rewarding community-engaged work.
The Summit culminated in an exciting keynote address by Ramírez-Andreotta. Ramírez-Andreotta is a leading community-engaged scholar who spoke about the importance and impact of incorporating community engagement in research and scholarship. Additionally, Ramirez-Andreotta served on a panel, hosted 2 roundtables, and gave the keynote address at the event!
