Dr. Karletta Chief Receives WINGS Women of Discovery Award

Dr. Karletta Chief was honored to be selected as one of the 2022 Fellows for WINGS Women of Discovery, an award established in 2003 to recognize extraordinary women making significant contributions to world knowledge and science through exploration.
On October 19, 2022, WINGS hosted their 2022 Women of Discovery Awards Gala to honor five new Women of Discovery, including Dr. Chief, for their innovative ideas and bold discoveries, and their unceasing quest to build a better world for us all.
WINGS WorldQuest awards unrestricted grants to exceptional women leading quests to advance knowledge and find solutions to global problems through bold research and exploration projects. Grants and honoraria are given to Women of Discovery Awardees, Flag Carriers and speakers. Since 2003, WINGS has awarded grants to more than 150 women across almost 80 countries and published the findings of over 50 women-led Flag Carrier field expeditions.
In 2023 WINGS WorldQuest will celebrate their 20th anniversary and two decades of advancing the pioneering work of women explorers, the joy of exploration and the power of curiosity and community.
