Trainee Christopher Olivares’ “Elevator Pitch” Video Featured by NIEHS

Jan. 13, 2014

In 2012, the University of Arizona Superfund Research Program (UA SRP) Community Engagement and Research Translation Cores worked with two UA SRP trainees to develop “elevator pitch” videos. The purpose of the videos, which were debuted at the 2012 SRP Annual Meeting and are available on YouTube, was for the students to briefly introduce themselves and provide a simple overview of their research projects in two minutes or less.

One video, featuring UA SRP Trainee Christopher Olivares discussing his graduate work using microbes to detoxify insensitive munitions, was recently selected by NIEHS to be featured on their YouTube channel. The video was praised for being well-done, with a message that was “clear and easy to understand, and conveyed in a striking and effective manner.”
